Step by Step

I love thinking about having a plan… but the older I get, and the seasons that have led up to now in my life…I am realizing rarely, does it work out that way.

In the Bible it says,

The heart of man plans his way,
    but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9

I think about steps, sometimes they are small, messy, sometimes big… and at times very wobbly. As followers of Jesus it's really hard to plan where exactly our steps are going to lead, in the big moments, as well as the mundane. The moments He tells us: go here, talk to them, pay for their coffee… the slight whispers of the Holy Spirit, or the prayers that seem so big and audacious we wonder, “God, will you come through?”.

But what if instead of tracking our steps & trying to control the outcome… we tracked His faithfulness in our lives?

I recently told someone, “I don’t know the why behind this yet?” … she simply replied with, “wait for the why. It will come.”

So, my friend, I am not sure what season he may have you in. What He is calling you… or as you wait on Him with your next steps…. lets track His faithfulness. Wait for Him, the why will come in time. Those steps you are taking, He sees them all, no matter how small they may seem to you. He is proud of you. He loves you as loving Father would and He knows best. Keep stepping in accordance with Him, He promises us He will never leave. Deuteronomy 31:8
